Visual Arts K-12 Honored in the 38th Annual Telly Awards

May 9, 2017 – The 38th Annual Telly Awards has announced this year’s winners, with Visual Arts K-12 receiving seven awards for videos produced in 2016 for Northview Public Schools in Grand Rapids and the Michigan Art Education Association (MAEA).

“This is a great honor and very humbling,” said Steve Harryman, filmmaker/videographer and founder of Visual Arts K-12. “As nice as it is to be honored, I am most excited about shining a light on terrific visual arts programs like Northview’s and organizations like the Michigan Art Education Association. These art educators show such dedication in providing quality visual arts education, pouring so much of their lives into their students. It’s really inspiring to see.”

The winning videos included “Art from the Heart” which shares the hopes, dreams and artworks of several Northview High School Advanced Art Class students in a series of personal interviews.  Other videos receiving awards included an event video covering the MAEA 2016 Fall Conference in Traverse City and a promotional video for the organization’s upcoming 2017 Fall Conference in Detroit.

The Telly Awards honor the finest in video and film productions from across all 50 states and around the world. Past winners include NBC, CNN, FOX, ESPN, Discovery, National Geographic, Johns Hopkins University, Time Warner and Disney.
